A Galway bar have created a cocktail based on the HB Super Split ice pops

IN THEORY PUTTING orange juice and milk together is a deeply disturbing concept. There was once a weird urban myth spread around primary schools that claimed that drinking orange juice and milk together could make you throw up.
The basis of the myth lied in the idea that somehow the two would curdle in your stomach, but anyone who gets their moneys worth at a hotel breakfast buffet knows that having a belly full of orange juice and milk is pretty harmless.
Anyway, less of that disgusting talk. So yes. In theory orange juice and milk is a vile combination, but there have been a couple of products that have proven turned that theory on it’s head over the years.

Dawn Smooth ‘n’ Juicy was an incredibly satisfying drink that was unlike any other.

Unfortunately, the Super Split has departed from the coffin freezers of our newsagents and the vans of our ice cream men. Hopefully it is in a better place. We still have a Solero equivalent and plenty of supermarket own brand versions of the Super Split but is it the same? The price certainly isn’t.
A bar in Galway are now selling a cocktail inspired by the 90s ice-cream.
McGettigan's McGettigan's
McGettigan’s in Galway are responsible for the cocktail. It’s made with vodka, passion fruit, orange juice and whipped cream. If it shares the balance of sweetness and creaminess that it’s namesake had, then it sounds very promising.
This comes in the wake of the release of Insomnia’s Brunch Ice Cap (which won’t get you drunk but is still pretty tasty). What’s next? A feast hot chocolate maybe? An Iceberger milkshake? Keep them coming.
